Welcome to 7th period weight Training

Welcome to the spring semester and 7th period weight training. I am excited to get going and to help you learn how to workout safely, effectively and to improve your health and fitness. In the next couple of day's we will be introducing you to several exercises and testing your current level of fitness. We will also establish class rules and routines. For your first blog this semester I want you to help me with this process. List for me three rules or routines that you thin will help the class run smoothly and help to keep everyone motivated and engaged in the class.
You will have a new blog each Monday and will be responsible for completing the blog before the next one is posted. Let me know in class or e-mail me if you have any questions with the blog.

  3. 3 Rules:

-People should take turns choosing music for the class.
-Have a set routine for metcons- for example one every 2 weeks, or something like that.
-People should, once done with their workout, be allowed to either keep working out, or rest and do homework if they are too tired.

  7. 1.) Find one bar, and stick to it.
People usually migrate from bar-to-bar during the workouts and it gets annoying.
    2.)Build a team.
Working out alone is boring, so when doing the workout socialize a little bit and motivate others.
    3.)Don't be an asshole.

  9. Three rules and routines:
    1) When the teacher is explaining how to lift the correct way you should listen so that you dont lift the wrong way and hurt yourself.
2)You should support each other; like if you see someone struggling you should tell them they can do it.
3)Dont just come into class and talk the whole time and not do anything the whole class period.Come in ready and prepared.

  11. Always have a safety bar or a spotter
    Always wear athletic sneakers
Start with a warm up of stretching the muscles you are about to work, perform the excise with only the bar and begin to move up to your desired weight, perform the exercise 3 to 5 times at that weight, cool down with light weight and stretch

Extra ones: Always let Michael Turow DJ the intense workouts to get the class pumped up
Michael Turow should always be shirtless during a metcon because the shirt just slows him down

If you havn't figured it out yet, this was Michael Turow
