Period 4 Weight Training Can we take them?

I came across an interesting news segment yesterday and wanted to share it with you.  Click on the link to watch the news piece of a high school in California who's workouts are similar to our metcons.  For this weeks blog I want to know two things.

1. Can we take them?  If we were to compete against them in a metcon who would win?

2. Can you pick out any individuals on the video who's form could use a little help and how would you help them.

Period 8 Soccer

We finished off our hockey unit last week and Jet Life came from behind to defeat Pat Riots twice and win their second class championship.  For our next sport we are moving on to soccer.  Soccer is another invasion game like, basketball and hockey.   For this week's blog I want you to tell me about your experience level and comfort with the sport of soccer.

March Madness is a big part of American culture.  Filling out a bracket and following the games makes the next few weeks fun.

Period 4 Weight Training Blog 5 Weaknesses

We have finished several different fitness assessments, you should be getting an idea of where your strengths and your weaknesses lie.  I have said before and will continue to hammer the point home that you can improve faster as an athlete or in your general health and fitness goals by focusing on that which you are not very good at, rather than just doing the things you like over and over. 

For this weeks blog let me know what fitness test you felt was a weakness of your and you want to focus on for the rest of the semester.

Period 8 Blog 5 Hockey Offense

In basketball we talked about how much time you spend without the ball, hockey is the same way.  What can you do in hockey when you do not have the puck to help your team on the offensive end?  Jay has come up with an effective strategy and is probably the class leader in goals so far. For this weeks blog let me know what you do when you do not have the puck to help your team score.  If you do nothing let me know what you will try to do this week.  You can use others strategies as they are posted.
