1. How do you know it's your ball to play when the ball is coming over the net?

2. How do you attack in volleyball?

1)You should call "mine" to let your teammates know that you got it. This way people will not bump into each other trying to get the ball.
2)with a down ball or spike
3)It is a fast hit to the other side and is hard for the opposing team to defend.

1)Well, that's a very complicated question you're dealing with. There are many ways indeed that you can be confident in knowing whether or not the ball is yours. First of all, obviously enough, the ball will be in your area of reach or possibly a little bit farther away from you than you will be able to reach without moving. To get to point, the ball will be closer to you then to your teammate. Once you have passed this step, you should yell "Mine" or "I got it" at a high enough tone in which your peers can hear you over a screaming crowd or opposing team. This should allow your teammates to gain trust in you that you will not let the ball hit the ground. Now the ball is yours and you should have no problem receiving the ball without another player ramming up against you, taking a ball you wanted to get, bumping heads, etc.

2)In volleyball, the term attack is not quite as true to its meaning than it would be in a sport like lacrosse, or fencing. In volleyball, the best way to define an "attack" would be a "spike" or more well renowned in the game, a "down-ball".

    3. An attack is a very helpful move made in the game of ball. Most people do not entirely have a great amount of knowledge as to why the attack is such productive play, but that is why I am here to further educate you on this issue. The attack is a fast, quick smack to the ball which can quickly throw off the players on the opposing team. It is one of the most difficult offensive moves in the game of volleyball and it takes a very high skill level to defend the move or to return it to the opposite side of the net.

    1) If the ball is heading towards you, call "mine" or "got it" and receive the ball. If someone else calls it, back away and get ready to set or spike it.

    2) Using a down ball

    3) Down balls are difficult to return because they're fast.

    1. By saying "mine" your teammates know that it is your ball and that you are going to hit it.

    2. Set up for your teammates a downball therefore making it harder for the enemy team to receive the ball again.

    3. Downballs are much harder to hit and usually result in an instant point for your team.

    1. You should call the ball by saying, "Mine" if it is closest to you and communicate with your teammates.

    2. The way that you attack in volleyball is to spike the ball by hitting a down ball that is in play and over the net.

    1. You should make sure that everyone knows that you are receiving the ball however way you are by yelling "Mine" or "I got it" so that your teammates don't steal the ball you wanted to receive or ram into you whilst you are trying to set up a play.

    2. The way to attack in volleyball is to perform a spike/downball in which the ball is hit hard and fast towards that ground.

    3. The attack helps you win the point because it is a very hard move to control the ball afterwords. Also, it takes up one of their 3 hits to get the ball in the court and/or to save the ball from hitting the cold hard ground.

  12. 1. You know its your ball to play by signaling to your teammates by saying "mine" or "I got it"

    2. You attack by setting the ball at the net or close to it, so that a teammate can attempt a spike/downball.

  13. 1. You immediately know that the ball is yours to play by yelling "mine" or "got it" so that your teammates know to let you play the ball.

    2. You attack by using a bump-set-spike combination. One person forearm passes the ball to another person, who then sets the ball, and the third teammate spikes (downball) the ball onto the opposite team's court.

    3. The attack helps you win the point by quickly forcing the ball onto the opposite team. The speed of the attack (if it's successful) is to quick for the other team to handle, so they lose the point, and you win.

  14. If the ball is headed in your direction, you can simply play the ball. If there is a situation where there is some uncertainty over whether or not it is yours or your teammate's, you can call the ball if you feel you can play it.

You attack by first gaining control. Once you have control, you can set up a play where you can spike or hit it over the net.

An attack helps you win a point by making it so that the other team can not return the ball.

  18. 1.) You know it's your ball to play when the ball is in your region of the court and you yell "mine" or something similar to that.

    2.) By using a spike/down ball.

  19. 1.) When recieving a ball on you half of the net simply call "mine" or "I got it" so there is no miscommunication between you and your teamates.

2.) To get a good attack, once you at least settle the ball clean then try to use the set and spike combination.

3.) If you get a good attack ball it will help you because they have more speed and power which makes it harder to return for the other team.

  26. 1. When you are the closest to the ball you know that it is yours to receive. In order to let the rest of your team know that you will receive it you must call out for it.
    2. In volleyball, the attack is set up through a combination of a forearm pass, a set, and then a down ball. The down ball is the fastest and hardest to receive, so it is used as the strike that delivers the ball over the net.

    3. An attack helps you win the point by producing a volley that is hard to receive. The harder volley will create mistakes that prevent the ball from being returned, thus earning a point.
