In basketball we talked about how much time you spend without the ball, hockey is the same way. What can you do in hockey when you do not have the puck to help your team on the offensive end? Jay has come up with an effective strategy and is probably the class leader in goals so far. For this weeks blog let me know what you do when you do not have the puck to help your team score. If you do nothing let me know what you will try to do this week. You can use others strategies as they are posted.
what you can do is try to screen the goalie or go behind the goal and try to ask for the puck

ReplyDeleteWhen you don't have the puck, you can try to draw defenders off the person with the ball by getting open. That will force defenders to spread out and give the person with the ball a better chance of scoring. Or, if nobody covers you - then you can get a pass and score.
In hockey, it is an effective strategy to stay near the goal on offense, so that you have a hance to deflect a shot into the goal, or just to obtain rebounds from shots by teammates, and effectively shoot them into the net while the goalie is out of position.

you can screen the goalie or while your teammate has the puck, pretend like your open so the opponents cover you so it makes it easier to score

Most times players will miss their shots so it is best to stand next to them when they shoot so just in case they miss you can shoot the rebound
