I came across an interesting news segment yesterday and wanted to share it with you. Click on the link to watch the news piece of a high school in California who's workouts are similar to our metcons. For this weeks blog I want to know two things.
1. Can we take them? If we were to compete against them in a metcon who would win?
2. Can you pick out any individuals on the video who's form could use a little help and how would you help them.
Here is the video
I think we could take them on. And there was a couple of people doing push ups but they weren't going down all the way or they were doing some butt towers. Id tell them to keep their body straight, butt down, and go until their chest touches the ground.

1.) Yes, I do think we could take them. We have some very strong people in our class and we might win.
ReplyDelete2.) There was a boy squat-cleaning who could of gotten his elbows up quicker and he needed to have a "big chest"
1. They wouldnt stand a chance.
ReplyDelete2. A kid towards the end of the video could flip the elbows more on his clean, and some pushups are floppy.
Matt Wong
1. In a metcon, we would win. Our school has some of the consistently best athletics in the state, barring football.
ReplyDelete2. the dead lift form of the 2 males could have been better, a bit wider of a stance and the one who then clean and jerked it arched his back a little bit.

If we were to go against them in a metcon showdown we would DEFIANTLY win.
ReplyDeleteAnd theres this one kid one of the instructors is helping at 0:37-0:42. He doesnt spread his feet well enough when he dips down and that makes him wabble. Also the one kid at 1:33-1:35 awkwardly brings the bar up and puts a lot of pressure on his wrists.

1) yes I think that we can take them in a metcon.
ReplyDelete2)one guy on the right at :30 seconds in to the video. When he is doing his push ups he need to keep his back straight and use his arms, not send his hips down then bend his arms. we can help him by telling him what i said in the previous sentence.
Sarah Kowal
1. Yes, we can take them. We would win if we were to compete against them.
ReplyDelete2. The person doing push ups. He had incorrect form. He needs to bend his arm at a 90 degree angle.

1. i think we can take them. If we were to compete them I think we would win, because the majority of our weight training classes are boys.
ReplyDelete2 In the video around 1:32, the guy did not do power clean correctly, I think he should use he legs to lift the weight.
Mike Chen
1. Yes we can take them. we are doing a good job in claas.
ReplyDelete2. The push ups weren't good enough, they didn't go all the way down.
Jose Letnic.
1) I think we would totally kill them, we are stronger than life!
ReplyDelete2)everyone neeeds help beause Mr.Kirk is not their teacher. Mr.kirk teaches us like olimpic lifters yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh biiiiiyyyyyyyyyyyy
XaVIER SWINGLER
1) Yes we would beat them in metacon
ReplyDelete2) a few of the students were sloppy with their push up and shoudl keep their back straight and their butt up.
Andy Lee
All I saw on this video was freshmen who were trying to lift weights and do metcons. I don't think it would be so easy to take the greatest class which will propably be full of crossfiters, football players and wrestlers. It would be easy to take these guys in a metcon, but we don't know what the greatest school records are about the crossfit metcons.
ReplyDeleteThe guy who was deadlifting could have his back more straight.
THANOS KONDYLIDIS
we can definitly beat these kids. I noticed bad form in their pushups.
ReplyDelete-Jason Lazar
Yea we could easily beat them in a metcon.
ReplyDeleteThe pushups were very sloppy, many people didnt go all the way down and there backs were not very flat when doing the push ups.
