We are in the middle of fitness testing. Fitness testing is not always the most fun thing to do but it is important. For this weeks blog let me know why you think fitness testing is important. If you don't think it is important defend your reasoning.
Also check out Bubba's Belly Run it is being held in a couple of week right down the street. The proceeds go to a good cause and I plan on running it. I encourage all of you to get involved in health and fitness events in the community and I will highlight several as the year progresses.
Fitness testing is important because it allows the teacher to know where the students fitness level is. also, the teacher can help raise the student's fitness level if he/she has an idea of where the student is.

ReplyDeleteFitness testing is quite important for fatties knowing they're fat (such as myself); and further rubbing it in. It also establishes just how out of shape you are from all the pizza and a certain drink but which I'm not sure; you drank and ate over the summer.
But in all seriousness it is a perfect way to gauge were you are, and what you should strive to achieve this semester, or this year.
For people who already know where they are physically it's fun to laugh at the groans of all the greenhorns as they prepare for the dreaded mile run or such.
Fitness testing is important because you know your current fitness and can work on areas needing improvement. You can also use this to set a goal for your self to make you stronger.

I agree with what everyone has posted here. Fitness testing is important because it lets you know where your body belongs in a physical spectrum. Not only does it help you determine if you made improvements after a certain course, it can also help you optimize the effectiveness of your exercises by doing workouts that suit your body.

Fitness testing is important because well it tests your fitness so you can see what level your currently at to therefore determine what level you want to reach at the end of the semester. it also shows what fitness areas you are weak in and shows how much you improve at the end of the semester when you take your 2nd fitness test.

Fitness testing is important because even though it's tedious and it takes up unnecessary time for some people, it's important to know how physically healthy your body is. If it turns out that your on the dangerously unhealthy side of the fitness chart, then it's a warning sign for you improve your fitness, and it could save you a lot of trouble.

Fitness testing lets you know what your limits are and what they aren't. It also disciplines yourself to endure more pain since the first training session is the most painful and surviving that soreness for a while builds your confidence and morale to get stronger.

Fitness testing is a good way to benchmark your physical improvement or lack there. It's hard to say how much improvemnet you've made if you improve in a repetitive activity such as high rep weight training or interval running. But with one time efforts you can easily compare performances.
