We are starting to work through all of our exercises and our various fitness assessments, at this point you should be identifying things that you naturally do well and things that you struggle with. Nobody is great at every lift the first time they do it. It takes time and practice to become proficient at these lifts. In the same way not everyone is built for long runs or heavy lifting. There are some things you are naturally good at and some you struggle with. I would argue that you get better faster by working on the things that you are not very good at, rather than just choosing to do exercises you know well and like.
For this weeks blog let me know what one lift, or area of fitness that you have the most problems with. Also let me know what you are doing to address this area of weakness.
i have never had good cardio so ive been riding a stationary bike for a couple of miles each day to keep me in shape.
ReplyDeleteOne excersise that i struggle with is squats because i dont have the best form, I try to counteract this by doing less weight and focusing on the form

Power clean, I'll be working on it at home.

Front squat. Can't always get into the bottom of the squat with heavy weights and get thighs below knees. Practice staying in the bottom of the squat.
ReplyDelete-Shiv Parmar
Definitely the power clean. I'll focus on form more than weight until I get the form down.
ReplyDelete-Gabriel Miller
I have poor cardio so i spend an hour every day playing soccer

Push Press, i have never been very good at doing push press, sometimes i over extend my back when i do a lot of weight, in order to fix this i plan on working on my form and doing push press more often.

im really bad at cardio so im going to try and start running a couple times a week
ReplyDelete-Adam Hochberg
Deadlifts because I have horrible form. I will be working on the form more and less on the weight.
ReplyDeleteDalton Carlson
Any lift that involves the shoulder, such as bench or push press since I'm recovering from a broken shoulder. To help it recover, I'm letting it rest and lift with light weights to get it back to full potential.
ReplyDeleteVictor Shen
Squats because of an inability to hold up heavy weights. need to train myself back up slowly over time, and get more precise and mechanical form.
ReplyDelete-Raphael Socher
squats because i cant go far down. I plan on stretching my legs everyday
ReplyDeleteBrett Keenan
i struggle with power clean. I'll try to work more on the technique, and then i'll add more weight.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Giannos
Benching is harder for me
ReplyDeleteill start doing somemoreupper body work(pushups, pull ups etc)

Dead lifts... during my last couple sets i feel that my back begins to arch. To fix this i will have a buddy check my back to see if it arch and if it does i shall take off some weights accordingly and work on my form and not so much the weight.
ReplyDeleteLawrence Byun
definately my vertical jump. I have decent numbers for powerclean deadlift and squat but for some reason I cant jump very high. Im going to keep lifting and working on flexibility to try and improve
ReplyDelete-olin
At first i did not have a very good powerclean so i used lighter weight and really tried to focus on getting my form down before i added more weight.
ReplyDelete-Jack Pykosh
My worst lift is benching. I will try doing more reps of lower weight to try and get better at it.
ReplyDeleteYusuf Khan
I am having trouble getting good form with power cleans, the triple extension needed in the power cleans is giving me trouble. I will focus more on my form and less on how much weight there is on the bar.

My lower body needs more work so I have to focus on lifts that strengthen it such as squat and deadlift. Powerclean couldn't hurt either.

Ive always had a grudge against running simply because ive never had the right amount of muscular or cardiovascular endurance to push myself very far when running. Ive been going to a seperate gym and been running and working on a stationary bike. Have noticed some improvement.

I have the most problems with the deadlift because im never able to get the right form when doing it. Now im looking in the mirrior to see if my back is straight every time I deadlift.
ReplyDeleteAlex Walsh
I have trouble with the power clean and dead lift form. I seem to do it the wrong way frequently so I try to practice more and more to get the form down before I move up with more weights.
