Period 3 Weight Training - Form

We have spent the past week hammering you on form for the various lifts we will be doing in class. Why do we spend so much time on form? Why is proper form important when exercising? What is more important to progress in the weight room, proper form or enough intensity? You must answer all three questions to get your points for this blog. This will be recorded as a homework assignment.

  4. so that we can be sure that we do the form for the excerise right, so that when excersing later in life as well as now we will be knowledgeable about the proper form for working out. also so that we don't hurt ourselves benching, lifting, and/or other forms of working out. proper form is more important in the weight room because without proper form you will not benefit from working out.

We spend alot of time on proper form so we won't get injured in class or have back or knee problems later in life like Mr. Long. You should have proper form 100% of the time during warmups and 80% of the time during metcon workouts.

  12. We spend a lot of time on form, so that it prevents us from getting into the habit of doing the lift wrong and injuring ourselves later on in life. It is important to have good form so you can perform the exercise properly and effectively. I think proper form is better to progress on because once you have the right form and you are able to do it correctly, the higher intensity will then follow.

  17. We spend time on form because it is the most important thing to a workout. We go over it to prevent injury and get the most that we can out of a workout. Form is more important then intensity because haigh intensity with improper form can cause injury and it could make the workout easier so you can be cheating yourself.
